House Renovation

While the Beta Gamma experience is certainly more than bricks, mortar and four walls of a building, our house does play a significant role in defining the Chapter.  The original house at 888 13th occupancy was decreased dramatically by the city to twenty-seven in the late 1980’s.  The House Corporation fought diligently to change this ruling by going to court,  unfortunately the battle was lost.  Many alumnae of the 70’s lived at 777 Broadway commonly known as the “chalet”. In 2002 the chapter rented a larger facility where they have successfully resided for the past five years.  It would seem evident Beta Gamma has struggled with finding a suitable facility for the past thirty-five years.

With the recent decision to purchase a final place to call home the House Corporation Board is faced with a challenge.  The new facility was built in the 1920’s and is a beautiful brick structure with a moat, sun deck, solarium and large bedrooms, but we must offer a competitive facility for today’s students’ needs.  This will require a renovation of the facility to include technology needs, safety, and amenities offered by other sororities.

Our goal is to have a facility that will reflect the tradition of excellence that Beta Gamma established at the University of Colorado in 1924!  We have the opportunity to bring together generations of Beta Gamma alumnae who lived in all three locations in the chapter’s history into one final home.

Your Role in Beta Gamma’s Future

The proud Beta Gamma legacy lives at the University of Colorado, characterized by top-quality members.  Your personal investment in Beta Gamma’s future will ensure a renewed success.  College women’s fraternities continue to play a relevant role in shaping the lives of young women.  More than ever there is a need for organizations dedicated to the advancement of women, supporting and mentoring them to become strong, capable leaders, and providing emotional support for the tough challenges facing today’s college students.

You are the only one who can place a value on your Alpha Phi membership –on the lifelong friendship you made in Boulder, on the development of your values and principles, and on the many ways Beta Gamma enhanced your college years.  Alpha Phi Sisters who came before us made it possible for us to have this experience, and now it is our turn to ensure future generations of Beta Gamma members have the same opportunities that our predecessors provided for us.
